• A notorious gang leader and murder suspect died in a hospital in Wales after a long illness. Cornelius Price, 41, who gardaí believe was one of the leaders of a group involved in the Drogheda feud, died this weekend.
• The 17-year-old who stabbed Urantsetseg Tserendorj to death was detained for life with a review after 13 years following government statements that legislation will provide new sentencing structures for juveniles convicted of serious crimes.
• A hospital consultant was found guilty of professional misconduct over his delay in returning to hospital while on-call to attend to a young Carlow woman who died shortly after giving birth at St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny seven years ago.
• An alleged incident involving a garda being struck by a missile in Ballyfermot has been condemned by the Garda Representative Association (GRA).
• A Cavan man who raped an acquaintance while she slept after the woman got into a bed beside him fully clothed has been jailed for six years.
• The child and family agency Tusla is to begin contacting around 20,000 people whose data was compromised during the 2021 cyber-attack on the HSE.
• Pay as you go energy provider Pinergy became the first energy supplier in Ireland to drop its prices since rates began to rise in 2020, with Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien stating that other companies should “follow suit”.
• The UK and the EU appeared to inch closer to a deal over the post-Brexit Northern Ireland Protocol after “productive” talks were held during an “intensive” phase of negotiations.
• Virgin Media Television said it wont be able to air some pre-recorded shows as it is dealing with an “unauthorised attempt’ to access its systems.

#TURKEY A 6.4-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Turkey’s southern province of Hatay, which was devastated by a massive tremor two weeks ago.

#UKRAINE US President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Kyiv this morning to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

#NICOLABULLEY Lancashire police confirmed that Nicola Bulley’s body has been found in the River Wyre, and that the case is now being handled by the coroner.

Frank Feely, the Dublin City Manager who ‘ran’ the capital for 17 years, has died at the age of 93. 

He is credited with leading the programme to drastically reduce Dublin’s 10,000-strong housing list during the eighties, the pedestrianisation of Grafton St, and is perhaps best-known for the 1988 Millennium campaign.
