CEANNA DE NA fadhbanna ba mhó a bhí ann i bhFánad i nDún na nGall le blianta fada ná nach raibh deiseanna nó poist ann ann do dhaoine óga.

Ach d’athraigh sé sin i 2016 nuair a d’oscail teach solais Fhánada in athuair mar ionad turasóireachta agus tionscadail Ghaeltachta.

Labhair The Journal le hEimear Ní Mhathúna, coimeádaí an tigh solais mar gheall ar stair Chionn Fhánada agus an tábhacht a bhaineann leis an teach solais don cheantar.

ONE OF THE biggest problems in Fanad, Co Donegal, for many years was the lack of opportunities or jobs for young people.

But that changed in 2016 when Fanad Lighthouse reopened as a tourism and Gaeltacht project.

The Journal spoke to Eimear Ní Mhathúna, the lighthouse keeper, about the history of Fanad Head and the importance of the lighthouse to the area.

Tá tacaíocht á fháil ag Beartas Gaeltachta The Journal ón Scéim Tuairiscithe ar Dhaonlathas Áitiúil.
