PICTURES: 50 firefighters deal with major blaze at storage unit off M50

Dublin Fire Brigade are advising people in the area to take care.

AROUND FIFTY FIREFIGHTERS are working to bring a large blaze at a storage unit at Ballymount under control.

The alarm was raised at around 10:15 this morning.

The ‘Store It’ unit just off the M50 has been evacuated along with surrounding buildings.

Dublin Fire Brigade said the firefighters are using breathing apparatus as they deal with the blaze.

Gardaí and ten fire units including two aerial appliances and an incident command unit are at the scene.

The ‘Store It’ unit is currently still up in flames and firefighters believe it will be a ‘prolonged incident’.

The fire has been described as a major incident but there are no reports of any injuries.
