Gardaí seize €120,000 worth of cannabis from a house in Cork

A man in his 60s was arrested after a large quantity of cannabis plant was found on lands in Skibbereen.

DRUG SQUAD GARDAÍ have seized cannabis plants and arrested a man following a search in Cork yesterday evening.

The raid was part of a planned operation and took place in the Church Cross area of Skibbeereen.

As part of an intelligence-led operation, Gardaí from the Cork West Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house and land at Church Cross.

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €120,000 were seized and a man in his 60’s was arrested at the scene.

The man was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Bandon Garda Station.

He was released from custody last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
