A SHERIFF SAYS the gunman who opened fire in an Oregon shopping centre, killing two people and then himself, didn’t seem to be targeting anyone in particular.
Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts tells NBC’s “Today” it appears that yesterday afternoon’s shooting in suburban Portland was random and the shooter was seemingly targeting “anyone who was in his line of sight.”

Witnesses described a scene of chaos and disbelief as a gunman wearing some sort of camouflage outfit and a mask shot an initial burst of fire and then more rounds at Clackamas Town Centre. Shoppers tried to find safe areas as teams of police officers began entering the mall to find the shooter.

Many shoppers fled and others hid in the backrooms of stores.
When it was over, three people were dead, including the gunman who police say killed himself.
Another bystander was seriously wounded.
