Woman in serious condition after Galway hit and run

It happened in Salthill, Galway on Saturday morning.

A WOMAN IN her 30s is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It happened outside the Dun na Carraige estate near Blackrock in Salthill at around 2.30am.

A garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

The woman was taken to University Hospital Galway where she is being treated for serious, but not life threatening injuries.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Salthill Garda Station on 091-514720.
