Poll: Will homelessness affect how you vote?

There are currently 8,374 people staying in State-funding emergency accommodation, including 3,124 children.

THE ISSUE OF homelessness is dominating the news following comments from Taoiseach Leo Varadkar that Ireland had “one of the lowest levels of homelessness” – despite a record number of people living in emergency accommodation.

Junior housing minister Damien English also came in for criticism for his attack on the coverage of the homelessness crisis. He said it was not acceptable “to hear commentators talking down our country” adding that it was “damaging to Ireland’s international reputation”.

Fine Gael’s approach to homelessness came in for criticism from the party’s TDs at a meeting last night.

So today we’re asking, will homelessness affect how you vote?
