Woman dies after house fire in Co Offaly

It is understood that gardaí do not suspect foul play at this time.

A WOMAN IN her 60s was found dead after a house fire in Co Offaly yesterday evening.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the fire in Moneygall yesterday at around 10pm. The fire was brought under control by the fire service and the woman’s body was recovered from inside the residence.

No other injuries were reported at the time.

The local coroner has been notified, and the woman’s body has been brought to the mortuary at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.

The scene is preserved for technical examination and investigations are ongoing. It is understood that gardaí do not suspect foul play at this time.
