THE GOVERNMENT had probably hoped that when it came to opening Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport, it would be hailing a new beacon helping to further drive Ireland’s economic resuscitation.
Sadly for Ireland, as Taoiseach Brian Cowen opened the new €609m terminal today, all minds were instead on the country’s new visitors from the European Union and International Monetary Fund as the government began negotiations on seeking a bailout for the ailing banking system.
Still, a new building is a new building – so here, to mark the occasion, is TheJournal.ie’s gallery with some of the choice shots of the construction of Dublin’s newest transport facility.
