Just over half of Bord na Móna strikers back to work
Around 20 workers still refusing to go back to Lough Ree power plant.
MOST OF THE BORD NA MÓNA workers on strike for the past three weeks have returned to work today.
Forty staff members had taken unofficial industrial action over a wage disagreement between staff and management.
Twenty-three of the 40 employees have agreed to return to work, but RTÉ reports that the others remain on strike.
The staff claimed they were entitled to compensation for loss of overtime pay while the Lough Ree plant was closed for three months for maintenance work.
The plant was due to re-open on 26 August.
The Longford Leader reports that a Labour Relations Commission (LRC) hearing is due to be held on the dispute between management and staff on 15 September, but the LRC has warned that the case will not be heard if the workers are still involved in unofficial industrial action.
