GARDAÍ in county Kildare have arrested three men as part an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activities.
Two of the men – aged in their 20s and 50s – were arrested this morning in the Monasterevin area of the county, while the third man – in his 40s – was arrested later this afternoon.
All three are being detailed at Naas Garda Station under Sectino 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.
RTÉ quotes a Garda source as saying the investigation had raided what they described as a “bomb factory”.
Gardaí say the operation involved local officers as well as members from the Special Detective Unit and the force’s Emergency Response Unit supported by local Gardai.
The scene of the arrests has been sealed off, and a technical examination of the area is underway.
