GARDAÍ IN LONGFORD are investigating a house fire in which a man in his 80s died.
Local fire services and gardai were called to scene in Ballinalee just before 7pm yesterday evening.
The victim, who was an occupant of the property, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body of the man was removed to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
A Garda spokesman told TheJournal.ie that the coroner is currently carrying out an investigation.
