Man arrested in connection with fatal stabbing of man in West Dublin last June

James ‘Jake’ Berney was taken to Tallaght University Hospital following the incident, where he was later pronounced dead.

A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with the death of a man in West Dublin last year. 

James ‘Jake’ Berney, who was aged in his 50s, was injured at a house in Foxdene Drive, Balgaddy, Co Dublin shortly after 11pm on 25 June 2025. 

It’s understood Mr Berney was stabbed during the incident. 

He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A man, who is aged in his late teens, was arrested today in connection with the incident.

He is currently detained at a garda station in Dublin.
