Man arrested in connection with Offaly fatal hit and run

A young man in his 20s was found seriously injured on a road in Tullamore in the early hours of this morning. He later died in hospital.

A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run incident in Offaly in the early hours of this morning.

The man, in his 50s, has been arrested in connection with the hit and run which left a man in his 20s seriously injured on the road at Killeigh in Tullamore in the early hours of this morning.

The injured man later died at Tullamore General Hospital.

The arrested man is currently being detained at Tullamore Garda Station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for any witnesses to the crash or any one who can provide information in relation to the incident to contact them at Tullamore Garda station on 057 932 7600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
