Man arrested over Kildare hit-and-run released without charge

A man in his twenties had been released by Gardaí in Leixlip this evening.

A MAN ARRESTED in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Kildare on Tuesday night has been released without charge.

The man in his twenties had been detained in Leixlip Garda Station since yesterday afternoon but he was released this evening.

A file will be prepared and forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A 61-year-old died in Tuesday night’s collision, which occurred on the Kinnegad to Edenderry road around three miles from Carbury. The car involved drove off after the incident.
