Man charged after three children struck by car in west Belfast

Two girls and a boy were taken to hospital for their injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening.

A MAN HAS been charged after three children were struck by a car in west Belfast on Sunday.

Two girls and a boy were taken to hospital for their injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening.

The incident occurred in the Black Ridge View area of the city on 24 August.

Police in Northern Ireland charged a man with drink driving and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.

The 37-year-old was also charged with failing to stop and remain where an accident occurred causing injury and failing to report an accident whereby injury was caused.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court today. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service, police said.
