Man in his 70s dies in single car collision in Drogheda

The incident occurred at 7.30pm tonight at Roadhall roundabout, on North Road.

A MAN IN his 70s died this evening in a single car crash at Roadhall roundabout, North Road in Drogheda.

The incident occurred at around 7.30pm.

The 76-year-old man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic investigation. Local diversions are in place.

It is expected that the road will be reopened at midnight.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact Drogheda Garda Station on 041 987 4200, the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
