Man found not guilty by reason of insanity
A MAYO man has been found not guilty of the murder of his mother by reason of insanity. Seamus Marrinan, 30, from Blackfort, Castlebar, Co Mayo, admitted killing Carmel Marrinan at the family home last July. The court heard he had believed she was the devil and had to kill her. Mr Marrinan will continue to be detained and treated at the Central Mental Hospital.
