Man held at knifepoint and robbed by five men in Dublin

Gardaí have made three arrests in connection with the incident that took place in north Dublin on Wednesday night.

GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED an investigation after a men was falsely imprisoned and robbed by five men in north Dublin on Wednesday night.

Gardaí have confirmed that they have made a fourth arrest in connection with the incident. A 15-year-old boy is in custody at Bridewell Garda Station.

Earlier, three males, aged 15, 16 and 18, were arrested in the area where the incident occurred. The 16 and 18-year-old appeared in court this morning and have been remanded in custody for a week.

The other 15-year-old boy has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí say that on Wednesday night five males entered a house on Botanic Avenue in Dublin 9, and held a 21-year-old man while they ransacked and stole property from the house.

The man was then held at knifepoint and driven in his car to two separate ATM machines. The man managed to escape but his car, identified as a light blue Opel Corsa (07-MH-1295), is still missing.

Gardaí say that some of the stolen property has been recovered but are appealing for information regarding this incident or for anyone who may be aware of the car’s whereabouts to contact gardaí at Mountjoy on 01 6668600, the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
