Man killed in Blanchardstown road crash

The man died after his vehicle struck a tree last night.

A MAN HAS died after his four-wheel drive vehicle struck a tree in Blanchardstown, north-west Dublin last night.

The 31-year-old man was the sole occupant of the 4×4 which collided with a tree on Snugborough Road in Blanchardstown at around 11.25pm. No one else was injured in the incident.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was removed to the morgue at James Connolly Memorial Hospital.

The road was closed as a forensic investigation was carried out but it has since been re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact them at Blanchardstown on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
