Man injured in Belfast shooting

The man was shot by a male who called to his home wielding a gun last night.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland are investigating a shooting incident that took place in Belfast last night.

A 35-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his neck on Monday night when he was shot at his home in the Glenbawn Link area of Poleglass.

The PSNI report that the man answered his door at around 8.30pm and was confronted by another male who produced what appeared to be a sawn-off shotgun.

The culprit fired two shots before making off in what is believed to be a green-coloured Passat.

Police arrested a 56-year-old man in the Lagmore Glen area who is now helping them with their inquiries.
