87-year-old man dies after being knocked out of his wheelchair in hit and run

The 87-year-old man died three days after being hit by a white truck in Cabra.

AN 87-YEAR-OLD MAN has died after a hit-and-run in Dublin.

The elderly man was knocked out of his electric wheelchair by a large white truck at Hanlon’s Corner at the North Circular Road.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital but died three days later.

The crash happened on Tuesday 30 September, but details have only been released today as gardaí have appealed for information.

The driver of the truck, believed to be a Mercedes, drove away from the scene without waiting to speak to investigating officers.

Gardaí have called on the driver and anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Bridewell Garda Station at 01 – 666 8200.
