Man who had his penis cut off in savage attack has been found dead

Police found the body of the 40-year-old at his home.

A MAN WHO had his penis cut off in a savage assault last year has been found dead at his home in England.

Police were called to the home of Kelvin Hewitt in Middlesbrough on Thursday morning and found the body of the 40-year-old, the Hartlepool Mail reports.

“The death of the man is not being treated as suspicious at this time,” a spokesperson for Cleveland Police said.

Hewitt was discovered by police at the side of a motorway near Middlesbrough in March 2014 after having had his penis severed in a brutal attack. Investigators believed that he was the victim of mistaken identity.

The father of seven was placed into an induced coma after the traumatic incident and released from hospital just over two weeks later.

One man was arrested in connection with the attack but was later released without charge.

A post mortem is due to be carried out on Hewitt’s body.
