POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland are appealing for assistance in identifying a man whose body was discovered in Co Down over the weekend.
The remains were found in the sea close to Ardglass harbour on Saturday.
A post-mortem examination is being carried out to determine the cause of death.
The man is described as being about 30-40 years old, of medium build, 5′ 8” in height. He has light facial stubble and a round face. His dark receding hair was combed back, according to the PSNI.
He was wearing a navy blue woollen jumper over a light-and-dark blue striped long-sleeved top. He was also wearing blue denim jeans and brown casual trainers.
Police say that he may have been in the Republic of Ireland recently as he was carrying euros issued here.
Anyone who thinks they may be able to identify this man, or may have any information which could help to identify him, is asked to contact the PSNI at Downpatrick on +44 845 600 8000.
