More problems for Google as Gmail goes down for some users

The latest problems follow last week’s service disruptions for users of Google calendars.

SOME USERS OF Google’s email service, Gmail, woke up this morning to empty inboxes with reports that years worth of email messages, chat logs and details have been deleted.

On its App Status Dashboard Google acknowledges a “service disruption” which they are investigating.

It is said to be affecting around 150,000 users of the service.

Some users of Google’s help forums reported the issue and said that all of their previous emails and settings had been deleted, causing problems for those who rely on the service, one of whom said:

Since I have used Gmail for all my business correspondence for the last 5 years, this issue is of crucial for me and all my customers.

Please help me to restore my mailbox ASAP!

Google say they are working to restore any missing messages to users affected.

It is the second problem that has afflicted Google application users inside a week
