Missing boy

1. A boy who went missing a number of years ago is presumed dead by gardaí and an area of Donabate will be subject to a search in the coming days.

Sudan

2. A “massive” landslide in Sudan’s western Darfur region has flattened an entire mountain village and killed more than 1,000 people, a rebel group that controls the area said late Monday, adding there was just one survivor.

School strikes

3. School secretaries and caretakers are prepared to strike “for weeks, if not months” in order to get parity with their colleagues in the education sector.

Belfast

4. The public has been urged to help in a review of the murder of a 10-year-old boy in Belfast more than 50 years ago.

Unity referendum

5. The Government has been urged to prepare for an Irish unity referendum following the passing of a motion by Dublin City Council.

Speed vans

7. Garda speed vans collected over €32m in fines from January 2023 to June 2025, according to figures released to Ireland South MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú.

8. Swiss food giant Nestle said it had dismissed its chief executive Laurent Freixe after an investigation into an undisclosed relationship with an employee.
