Local media reports Irish woman stabbed to death in Morocco

The circumstances of the death are not yet clear.

AN IRISH WOMAN has died in Morocco.

According to local media, the woman was living in Taghazout, a fishing village north of Agadir.

The circumstances of the death are not yet clear.

According to Yabiladi the woman was discovered with stab wounds and died as a result of her injuries.

It also reports that the guard at the residence reported hearing “intense cries” from the apartment where the woman was found.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene in an advanced state of intoxication.

The Department of Foreign Affairs told TheJournal.ie that it is aware of the case and stands ready to provide consular assistance if requested.
