Motorcyclist killed in Sligo crash

Thirty-year-old man killed after his motorcycle collided with a car on the N17 yesterday evening.

A 30-YEAR-OLD MAN HAS died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car yesterday evening in Co Sligo.

The incident occurred at around 5.30pm on the N17 between Tubbercurry and Charlestown.

The injured man was taken to Sligo General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The road is closed pending a technical examination of the scene, and gardaí say it is likely to remain closed until this afternoon. Diversions are in place via the Ballina Road.
