How many hours of sleep do you get?

A new survey has found that Irish people get an average of 6.9 hours of sleep a night, and women and carers’ quality of sleep is poorer.

IRISH PEOPLE GET an average of 6.9 hours of sleep every night, with women and carers having poorer quality sleep than others.

That’s according to the results of the latest Healthy Ireland survey, which asked 7,558 people aged 15 and older about their wellbeing. 

Some of the main reasons pointed to as a factor in people getting an insufficient amount of sleep include an inconsistent schedule, stress and anxiety, medical conditions and medications, and poor diet.
