IN THE EARLY hours of this morning – Irish time – Katie Taylor claimed a third victory over Amanda Serrano in front of tens of thousands at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Two judges scored the bout 97-93 — or seven rounds to three — in the Irishwoman’s favour, with a third seeing it even at five rounds apiece.
The US-based fight was on at a slightly awkward time for Irish people at home wanting to watch live, but for many, it was worth it to wait up.
