Investigation launched after man took off helmet and discovered he had burns and hair loss.

A ‘PRACTICAL JOKE’ gone wrong led to a Derry postal worker losing clumps of his hair and suffering burns.

The man took off his motorbike helmet at home on Wednesday afternoon and discovered the hair loss, BBC News Northern Ireland reports.

He had initially put on the helmet in the staff locker room at Royal Mail’s delivery office on Great James Street in Derry.

Royal Mail has launched an investigation into the incident and it is understood a police investigation has now been dropped.
