Violent prisoner is still on the move on the island of Ireland

Jonathan Turley was supposed to return to prison on May 9 after being released on bail.

A PRISONER WHO is described as having a history of violence is still free after failing to return to prison.

Jonathan Turley, 33, was granted bail on 9 May from Magilligan Prison.

The PSNI in Northern Ireland has stated that they believe it is possible that he has travelled within the province and have issued a fresh appeal for information about him.

Speaking about the case, Detective Inspector Jenna Fitzpatrick from the PSNI, said, “We know that Mr Turley travelled to Belfast on Saturday evening and was then sighted in the Newcastle area on Sunday. We are conducting extensive enquiries into each of these reports.”

I would urge the public not to approach Mr Turley as he has an extensive history of violence and may pose a risk to them.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the police on 999.
