Public urged not to share videos of Drogheda collision as motorcyclist dies in hospital

The collision occurred on Friday between a van and the man’s motorcycle.

A MAN IN his 40s has died after sustaining critical injuries in a collision in Drogheda on Friday.

The collision occurred between a van and the man’s motorcycle. The motorcyclist was brought Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was today pronounced dead. 

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision, which occurred at John Street, Dublin Road, Drogheda before 7:10am on Friday, to come forward.

A spokesperson said gardaí are aware that footage of the incident is being circulated online on messaging platforms. 

“Members of the public are strongly urged not to share this material out of respect for the deceased and their family.”

Investigations are ongoing.
