Third man arrested over Roscommon post office robbery

Staff members were threatened with a gun during the robbery yesterday morning.

A THIRD MAN has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a post office in Roscommon yesterday in which staff were threatened at gunpoint.

Two masked men entered the post office with a gun at 9.30am in the morning and stole an undisclosed sum of cash before fleeing the scene.

Yesterday, two men, both in their 20s were arrested after the car they made their escape in crashed. The third man, who is 26-years-old was arrested this evening in the Roscommon area.

All three are being held at Roscommon garda station and gardaí said investigations are continuing.
