Second woman accused over slurry pit death pleads not guilty

Two women are going on trial for the murder of Gary Bull, whose body was found in a slurry pit in 2007.

A CORK WOMAN HAS pleaded not guilty to the murder of a man whose body was discovered in a slurry pit on a Cork farm in 2007.

Gardaí drained the pit to recover the body of Gary Bull, 37, from the farm at Shanlaragh, Co Cork, and a post-mortem revealed he had died from head injuries.

Una Geaney, 45, originally from Fermoy but with an address at Mullinagleamig, Co Kerry, denied murdering Bull at the Central Criminal Court.

On Monday, Amanda McNab, 25, with an address at Mullinagleamig, Co Kerry, pleaded guilty to his manslaughter.

Bull had been living in a mobile home in the area and had been involved with a new-age traveller community at Coole Mountain for about three years before his death.

RTÉ reports that prosecuting counsel Tom Creed told the court yesterday that it is the state’s case that several people were at the property when Bull was killed, but three were involved directly in his death.
