Éamon Ó Cuív says people on the dole could see their benefits cut if they don’t participate in ‘work-for-welfare’ schemes. Do you think that’s fair?

ÉAMON Ó CUÍV has warned that people on unemployment benefits who refuse to partake in community ‘work-for-welfare’ schemes, or take part in training courses, could see their Welfare payments cut.

Is that fair? Should people on the dole be asked to contribute to the community? Or should they be allowed to concentrate on finding paid jobs?

Is Ó Cuív’s work-for-welfare scheme a good idea?
