Pilot taken to hospital after small plane crashes in County Armagh

The PSNI said it received a report of a crash involving a small aircraft at around 1:15pm today.

A SMALL PLANE has crashed near Tandragee, Co Armagh and the pilot has been taken to hospital. 

The PSNI said it received a report of a crash involving a small aircraft at around 1:15pm today. 

Firefighters responded and arrived at the scene of the crash on Mullahead Road, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service told The Journal, where they “made the scene safe”.

“The pilot was out of the aircraft when Firefighters arrived and has been transferred to the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service,” the service said. 

There were no passengers on board the aircraft and the Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was dealt with in less than an hour.

Police said the Air Accident Investigations Branch of the PSNI had been informed of the incident.
