Man remains in critical condition after stabbing in Kilkenny

The three men who were arrested have been released without charge.

A 22-YEAR-OLD man who was stabbed in Kilkenny over the weekend remains in a critical condition in St Luke’s General Hospital.

The man was seriously injured during the incident which happened at Love Lane, Castlecomer on Saturday evening.

The three men who were arrested by gardaí as part of their investigation have been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Two of the men are aged in their 30s and one is in his 40s.

An incident room has been established at Kilkenny Garda Station and a family liaison officer has been appointed to the case.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses who may have been in the Love Lane area between 5pm and 7pm on Saturday to contact them. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
