Some people want to boycott the new Star Wars - because the lead actor is black

Some said the film represented “white genocide”.

A GROUP OF internet commenters are calling for a boycott of the new Star Wars film because the lead actor is black.

The new trailer for The Force Awakens, out on 18 December, was released yesterday and shows the film’s lead character Finn, played by John Boyega, wielding a lightsabre and running from general badness.

The fact that Boyega is black was enough to annoy some people. Annoy them enough that they called for a boycott of the JJ Abrams movie.

While the boycott is believed to have originated on 4chan, some Twitter users jumped on the bandwagon.

Some said the film represented “white genocide”.
