Three die in two separate Cork road traffic accidents

A man and a woman were killed in one accident in Glanmire while a woman was fatally injured in a collision between Kibeheny and Mitchelstown.

GARDAÍ IN CORK are investigating two fatal road traffic accidents which took place in the past 24 hours.

A man and a woman were fatally injured in a two-vehicle collision on the N25 at Courtstown, Glanmire, Co Cork.

The incident occurred at approximately five minutes past midnight and drivers of both cars died while a male passenger in one of the cars was critically injured and is now in Cork University Hospital.

In a separate incident, Gardai in Mitchelstown are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the old N8 between Kibeheny and Mitchelstown.

At approximately 6.50pm a woman aged in her late teens was fatally injured when the 4×4 vehicle she was travelling in collided with a ditch. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were six other occupants in the vehicle, four female teenagers and two male teens, who were taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
