Two hospitalised, several wounded in Antrim stabbing incident

A male and a female have been taken to hospital following an incident in Newtownabbey.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been hospitalised and several other wounded in a stabbing incident in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, this afternoon.

Police received a report concerning the incident, which occurred in the Ballyduff Gardens areas, at around 4pm today.

A male and a female were taken to hospital suffering from stab wounds and several others are being treated by paramedics for cuts, according to the PSNI. Further details of their conditions are unknown at this stage.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the violence, but it is understood they are not currently searching for anyone else in connection to the incident.
