Convenience meets community: Check out these brand new homes coming soon to Kildare

Two new developments from Glenveagh Homes are set to launch in the area this year.

SITTING SOUTHWEST OF Dublin, Kildare has long been one of Ireland’s most popular commuter counties.

With strong road and public transport links to the capital, making a daily trip for work is more than viable. But there’s plenty about Kildare that’ll tempt you to stay close to home too: a range of large towns with their own amenities, natural landmarks like Pollardstown Fen, plus cycling, walking and hiking routes dotted across the county.

With a population that jumped by almost 20% in the decade leading up to the last Census in 2016, Kildare’s popularity is only continuing to grow. With a growing population comes growing demand for homes, of course, so house-hunters will be pleased to hear that Kildare will soon be home to two new developments from Glenveagh Homes.

Homes at Belin Woods in Newbridge and Walker’s Gate in Kildare town at currently being sold off plans, and showhouses for both developments will open soon.

Belin Woods features a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, all situated in Kilbelin, just a short walk from Newbridge.

As Kildare’s second largest town, Newbridge has much to offer new arrivals: a bustling town centre, a long-established community and a thriving cultural scene. As local business owner Emma Spain described it to The Journal:

It’s a wonderful little town. There’s so much art and energy here.

Residents of Belin Woods will live close to supermarkets, schools, GAA clubs, shops, restaurants and bars along with Newbridge’s beautiful Liffey Linear Park. They’ll also be a ten minute drive from the 4,870-acre Curragh Plains, one of the oldest natural grasslands in Europe, and an ideal space for walks, cycles and runs.

The drive to Dublin city takes around 40 minutes, and the train from Newbridge will have you at Heuston Station in 25 minutes.

Around 15 minutes west of Belin Woods, just outside Kildare town, is Walker’s Gate, another new offering from Glenveagh Homes. Again, buyers can choose from two, three or four-bedroom homes here.

Kildare is one of Ireland’s oldest towns, but one that has plenty to offer modern residents. Declan Power, a local and a member of Kildare Cycling Club, told The Journal

“It’s lively, it’s vibrant, there’s a lot of facilities. There’s a rugby club, there’s football, there are nice restaurants and pubs. There’s a good buzz around the place the whole time.”

With three primary schools, one secondary school and a playschool nearby, the area is ideally equipped for growing families. You’ll have a range of supermarkets and shops on your doorstep, as well as Kildare Village outlet centre just a three-minute drive away – the ideal spot for fashion lovers and deal seekers.

The journey to Dublin city takes 50 minutes by car, and for trips big and small there’s the frequent Dublin-Cork train route, which passes through Kildare station. If you’re heading further afield, you’ll be just 45 minutes from Dublin Airport.
