Enjoy it while it lasts, Jack: We'll be waving goodbye to the gorgeous weather by Friday

Sure it was nice while it lasted.

WE’VE BEEN ENJOYING the finest weather of the year so far in recent days (no big surprise – sure it’s spring) – but unfortunately it’s not going to last all that long.

It will hit up to 18 degrees in some parts of the country this afternoon, according to Met Éireann - and we can expect similar conditions tomorrow too.

After that – well, it’s back to more typical April weather:

Breezy on Friday, with freshening southerly winds. Some sunny spells, but cloudy periods too, with some showery rain in places.

It will only hit around 15 degrees on Friday – and on Friday night, a spell of wet and windy weather will spread in from the Atlantic.

Saturday will be “cool and breezy, with occasional showers, some heavy and of hail, but some sunny spell at times also”.

And on Sunday we’ll have a wet and windy start “but the heavy rain should give way to scattered showers for the afternoon and evening”.
