Woman dies after two car collision outside Carlow

The woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were also injured in the incident.

A WOMAN HAS died following a road crash in Carlow earlier this evening.

The woman, in her 30s, was the sole occupant of a car which collided with another car at Leagh in Rathoe on the Carlow to Wexford road at about 7.25pm this evening.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene which is about three to four miles outside Carlow Town.

The driver and passenger in the other car were taken to Kilkenny Hospital where they are currently being treated. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardaí say that the road is currently closed pending an examination by forensic investigators and diversions are in place.
