A WOMAN HAS been interviewed in connection with the death of an 11-year-old girl in Tullamore at the weekend.

A garda spokesperson said that a woman was interviewed yesterday at Tullamore garda station in relation to the investigation.

The woman wasn’t arrested or charged following the interview.

The 11-year-old girl was found at a home in Bachelor’s Walk in Tullamore, Co Offaly, just after 9pm on Saturday night.

Her mother was also found unconscious and was brought to hospital along with her daughter, who was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Gardaí had said earlier this week that they were hoping to speak with the mother, who was named locally as  GP Bernadette Scully, and were not looking to interview anyone else in relation to the death.
