ZARA HOME, THE homeware branch of fashion retailer Zara, is opening its first ever Irish standalone store in Dundrum Town Centre.

The store will be opened later this year, although no official date has been given.

The new store will be a “prime location” in the town centre, with its premises measuring an impressive 15,845 square feet.

“Zara Home will bring its signature contemporary design concept and curated home collections to Irish customers – offering a wide range of homewares, including bedroom, living, dining and bathroom accessories,” a statement announcing the move said.

Zara has an existing clothes store on the main shopping centre’s first floor, which is temporarily closed for “major expansion and refurbishment”. There are also shops dotted around the county.

Last year, the Spanish brand generated €5.6 billion in pre-tax profit, while its parent company Inditex closed out the fiscal year with a profit of €6.22 billion. 

Inditex owns other popular clothing stores like Pull & Bear, Bershka, Massimo Dutti and Stradivarius.

Inditex is among the companies on the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, a global campaign calling for economic and political pressure against Israel due to its actions in Gaza and the West Bank.

The movement has called for the parent company and its brands to be boycotted due to its maintained commercial presence in Israel, with Zara opening its largest ever Israeli store at the start of last year, and members of its team’s comments on the genocide in Gaza.
