This €40-per-box 'beauty chocolate' may be the clearest sign yet that the Celtic Tiger's back

Good grief, what’s this?

THE ECONOMY’S ‘BOUNCING back’.

Haven’t you heard?

Throw a minister in front of any microphone these days, and you can be guaranteed the phrase ‘green shoots’ will be uttered at least twice – within the first ten to 12 seconds.

And, as anyone who took a walk through Dublin city centre last weekend will have noticed, the streets of the capital are once again thronging with young couples, packing out fashionable bars and tripping over themselves to spend all that disposable cash.

Particularly around the Capel Street and Dublin Castle areas…

Alright, perhaps that was just last weekend.

But either way, people definitely have a bit more cash to spend then they did even three years ago – when this happened:

In what’s perhaps the clearest indicator that we may once again be hurtling inexorably towards the tottering heights of the Celtic Tiger – these arrived in TheJournal.ie’s offices earlier this week…

What is it?

Well, according to their press bumf, ‘esthechoc’ is the world’s first beauty chocolate.

Rich, dark and velvety –  the chocolate treats boast “incredible skin enhancing properties”.

How?

It’s based on intensive research, we’re told. The chocolates combine “the potency of nature with scientific evidence”.

It’s all about harnessing the “proprietary enhanced power of Cocoa Polyphenols”.

Not to mention “one of the strongest antioxidants: Astaxanthin”.

Anyway – here’s what the ‘food supplement’ looks like in real life:

And how does it taste?

Quite nice.

Like dark chocolate, really.

My skin didn’t immediately appear any more youthful – but then again, it’s been along week, and I haven’t quite gotten over the whole Averil Power thing yet.

(If you’re interested – a three week trial box costs €39.95, and they’re available exclusively from Therapie Clinic)
