36-year-old woman killed in Cork crash

The woman’s car is believed to have left the road between 10pm last night and 7am this morning.

GARDAÍ ARE TODAY investigating a single car collision that left a woman in her 30s dead.

Gardaí at Bantry Co Cork are investigating the crash, which saw the woman’s car collide with a ditch sometime between last night and this morning.

The collision is believed to have happened sometime between 10pm last night and 7am this morning. A 36 year old female was the only occupant of the car and was fatally injured when it left the road at Tooreen, near Skibbereen County Cork.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Unit collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision and in particular to any person who may have travelled on the road between Drimoleague and Skibbereen between the hours of 10pm last night and 7am this morning to contact them at Bantry Garda Station on 027-20860, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
