100-year-old woman who suffered a broken neck after mugging has died

The woman suffered a broken neck and bruising to her face as a result of a robbery last week.

A 100-YEAR-OLD woman in the UK who suffered a broken neck after she was robbed of her handbag has died.

Derbyshire police announced today that Zofija Kaczan passed away in the early hours of the morning.

After the robbery occurred, Kaczan told police that she was approached from behind, knocked over and had her handbag stolen,

Police reported yesterday that they had released a 39-year-old man in relation to the robbery that occurred last Monday, 28 May in Normanton.

The woman suffered a broken neck and bruising to her face.

Police in Derby have asked for anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

“There are people in Derby who know the person responsible for this crime and I would urge them to come forward with any information that can help bring those responsible to justice.

“We have a number of leads that we are pursuing and a post-mortem will take place to determine a cause of death,” Derbyshire Police said.
