14-year-old killed in fall from tractor

The boy was a passenger in the tractor and sustained serious head injuries when he fell yesterday evening.

A 14-YEAR-old boy has died of injuries he sustained in a tractor accident yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at Knocknacullta, Killvullen in Mallow, Co Cork at 5.45pm. The boy sustained serious head injuries when he fell from the tractor.

The teen, who was the passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. It is understood that the driver did not sustain any injuries.

Gardaí are investigation the circumstances of the incident and the road at the scene remains closed pending a forensic collision examination of the area, with diversions on place.
